This 1986 Jan Jansen Sallanches Racer is in showroom condition. According to the brochure form the time the bicycle is aimed at the enthusiastic racer or tourer and is made with extra lightweight Vitus 788. The frame is full of lovely details: Vitus drop outs, beautiful lugs which are nicely accentuated by the pristine metallic paint, engraved fork crown and proud headbadge.

The bike is kitted out with a Shimano 600 EX (Golden Arrow) groupset with 7x2 gears and 600EX hubs laced to Wolber Super Champion rims. Custom Sakai stem and seat post. Lovely leather San Marco Rolls saddle. All components full of shine.

Jan Janssen, world champion and the first Dutch tour winner, started his own bicycle brand in 1972 under his own name. After various partnerships under some of the largest bicycle brands at the time, Flandria and then Union, Jan eventually bought back the company and it has remained in the family where it is currently led by his two sons.
