About Nishiki
Nishiki is named after the special thread woven into ceremonial wedding kimonos and this bike hails from the original Kawamura Cycle in the city of Kobe, Japan. It made a range of bikes for markets all over the world from entry level commuting bikes to top end road bicycles. This is an example of the former.
The frame is produced from quality Tange (a famous producer of quality Japanese steel since 1920) Champion 2 butted tubes.
Further indicators of the frame's high quality are the beautiful lugs, nice engraving details on the seat stays and and forged Shimano SF dropouts.
