This 1986 Jan Jansen Tour de France is a pocket rocket with loads of classic style. The frame is made from Ishiwata 220 double-butted steel, detailed lugs, Gipiemme drop-outs and metallic silver outfit.
The bike is kitted out with a Shimano 600 EX (Golden Arrow) groupset with 7x2 gears and 600EX hubs laced to Wolber Super Champion rims. Shimano Exage SLR brake levers are a nice upgrade that are easier on the hands than the original non-aero levers (brake levers where the cables are external). Custom Sakai stem and seat post. Lovely leather Turbo. All components full of shine.

About Jan Jansen
Jan Janssen, world champion and the first Dutch tour winner, started his own bicycle brand in 1972 under his own name. After various partnerships under some of the largest bicycle brands at the time, Flandria and then Union, Jan eventually bought back the company and it has remained in the family where it is currently led by his two sons.
