This late 70s early 80s Jan Jansen comes in an eye catching sky blue with orange and yellow decals. The frame was handbuilt in the Netherlands with lightwheight Columbus Aelle butted steel tubing. The model of the bike specifically references the Shimano Arabesque (600EX) groupset. It was customary at the tme for Shimano, the Japanese component manufactrer to partner with local frame builders to promote their newest groupset.Â
As such the bike comes with a complete Shimano Arabesque groupset - which is considered by many to be the best looking Shimano group ever made, widely used in professional cycling in the era where it was also known for its durability. 6x2 friction shifting, 600EX hubset, laparade stem and seatpost. Classic Selle San Marco saddle to complete the look.
Components and frame indicate a bicycle that has most likely spent its life "sleeping" indoors.
